The Gurkha Cellar Reserve 21 Year is a medium-bodied, limited-edition cigar that is renowned for using rare, 21-year-aged Dominican filler tobacco and being the first in the Cellar Reserve series to employ a Connecticut Shade wrapper. Its rich, creamy, and nutty flavour profile has earned it praise.
The first third
The first stage is light and sophisticated, with a smooth, creamy texture and clear almond and cashew notes. The smoke has a mild, approachable beginning thanks to the natural sweetness of tobacco and a subtle cedar flavour.
The second third
While keeping the medium body, the flavours in the cigar's centre somewhat intensify. As hints of sweet dried fruit and light coffee appear, the creaminess endures. The consistently nutty and woodsy foundation becomes more sophisticated as subtle notes of vanilla and a light, zesty spice start to emerge.
Last Third
The flavour profile gets a little richer and stronger in the last third. Darker coffee bean flavours mingle with the earthy overtones as they grow more noticeable. A pleasing and sophisticated finish is achieved by keeping the cedar and nuttiness prominent while gently increasing the spice.
