The premium, mild-to-medium-bodied Sobremesa Brûlée Robusto is made at the Joya de Nicaragua facility by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust and blended by Steve Saka.
The blend is praised for being a more elegant and sophisticated version of classic light Connecticut cigars. Its texture, which is rich, silky, and incredibly creamy, is widely acclaimed.
First third: Features: Extremely smooth, mild to medium-bodied, and characterised by a strong sweetness reminiscent of candy. Notes: Sweet honey, vanilla cream, cooked pastry, toasted bread, and a hint of grassiness are the main flavours. Retrohale: Produces aromas of graham crackers with a very little trace of lemon zest or white pepper.
Second third: Features: The body finds a stable, cosy medium. The profile slightly dries out as sweet ingredients diminish, but the core creaminess is still present. Notes: The profile is dominated by cedar and wood notes. Caramel, coffee, a rich, malty flavour reminiscent of a fresh croissant, and baking spices like cinnamon accompany them. Around the midway point, several reviewers notice an abrupt, pronounced sweet blueberry note. Retrohale: Has a clearer wood presence, deeper tobacco aromas, and a modest increase in intensity
Final third: Features: A toastier, somewhat grittier, and more powerful finish develops as the smoothness fades into the background. Notes: Earthier notes of hay and cedar dance around pronounced mixed nuts, like cashew and hazelnut. The taste is struck by a deeper sweetness, such as caramel, dark chocolate, or burnt sugar. The Finish: White pepper and mild baking spices intensify toward the nub, keeping the cigar from turning bitter and offering a well-balanced, elegant finish.
