The 20th Anniversary of Perdomo Maduro Robusto is a highly regarded, award-winning, medium-to-full-bodied Nicaraguan puro that is renowned for its rich, sweet chocolate and espresso flavours as well as its smooth complexity.

Special Ageing: The wrapper is barrel-aged with bourbon for an extra 14 months, adding a distinct sweetness and richness. All tobaccos are aged for at least eight years.

First Third: Oak & Rich Chocolate
Primary Notes: Dense, immediate espresso and dark chocolate flavours.
Accents: A noticeable hint of sweet vanilla and toasted oak (a result of the bourbon casks).
Retrohale: A mildly potent red pepper spice that is smooth and comforting.

Second Third: Savoury & Creamy

Key Notes: The sweetness transforms into a "milk chocolate" or creamy malt flavour. The foundation is made up of deep notes of soil and leather.
Accents: Roasted nuts (walnuts) and a faint black cherry fruitiness are present.
Texture: The palate is coated by the rich, buttery smoke.

Last Third: Strong Spice & Coffee
Key Notes: The profile darkens into a strong espresso bean and bittersweet cocoa.
Accents: Black pepper and a taste of anise (black liquorice) become more noticeable when the level of spice increases dramatically.
Finish: A very lengthy, clean finish with a lingering roasted oak and molasses sweetness.
