A premium, full-bodied Dominican cigar, Davidoff Winston Churchill "The Late Hour" is meant to portray the thoughtful, imaginative nature of Sir Winston Churchill during his sleepy hours. Most notably, it was the first mix to contain tobacco that had been matured in Scotch single malt whisky casks for six months.
The "Whisky" component: For six months, Nicaraguan Condega Visus leaves are pressed into single malt Scotch casks, allowing them to absorb the scents of the whisky and wood without the need for liquid.
First Third: Accompanying the oak wood and black pepper are chocolate and velvety leather, with a "scotch-like" sweetness and a hint of citrus.
Second Third: A firm medium-full is reached by the body. Dark chocolate, cedar, and roasted coffee bean flavours intensify, counterbalanced by a "biscuity" or graham cracker sweetness.
The intensity intensifies in the final third. It finishes with a lingering spice and an earthy, salty undertone, followed by notes of malt, black fruits, and antique leather.
