A traditional hand-rolled Cuban cigar, the Romeo y Julieta No. 1 is renowned for its medium-bodied, well-balanced taste profile and sophisticated appearance in an aluminium tube lined with wood. With flavours of coffee, cedar, and a hint of sweetness, it provides a smooth smoking experience.
First Third
Because of its distinctive cedar-lined tube packaging, the first puffs are frequently quick to settle and provide a smooth, creamy smoke with a strong cedar flavour.
Core Notes: A moderate, underlying sweetness will be accompanied by a lovely, light cedar woodiness.
Early Impressions: As the cigar opens out, there are frequently notes of dried grass, nuts (walnut and hazelnut), and a hint of white pepper on the finish.
The second third
The flavour profile deepens and the complexity gradually increases as the cigar moves into the middle third, all the while maintaining a very harmonious balance.
Core Notes: The cedar and nuttiness are still present, but a richer, creamier profile appears, frequently accompanied by clear notes of caramel, coffee, or cappuccino.
Creating Flavours: There are also faint floral overtones and a silky dark chocolate flavour. In this area, the smoke volume tends to rise and get denser.
The Last Third
The flavours get more intense in the latter third, with earthy and deeper tones emerging for a hearty finish.
Core Notes: Stronger woody tastes and earthy undertones make the profile more noticeable. Additionally, the coffee/espresso notes intensify and darken.
Lingering Impressions: If smoked slowly, the experience stays smooth and doesn't become harsh or bitter, with a hint of spice, leather, and a mineral finish.
