Origin of Name: "Vegueros" means "farmers," paying tribute to Pinar del Río's tobacco growers. "Centrogordos" describes the fatter, more flavourful leaves that are located in the centre of the tobacco plant.
The "Petit Gordo" (100 x 54) Vegueros Centrogordos is renowned for its rich, grassy Cuban character and medium-to-full body.
First Third: Has a smooth, creamy texture that is frequently likened to sweet milk candies or custard cream biscuits. Toasted cedar, light earthiness, grassy undertones, and a subtle white pepper on the retrohale are among the core characteristics.
Second Third: Roasted almonds and light cocoa combine with the creamy smoothness as the sweetness intensifies into caramelised sugar and honey. During this phase, some smokers also notice a distinct "vegetative" profile with traces of fennel or kale.
Last Third: The tension increases in anticipation of a stronger conclusion. The flavours change to rich leather, espresso crème, and dark chocolate. The spice intensifies and ends with a hint of black pepper and oak.
