Nose: Some dates have a somewhat sharp plum and apricot wine note that at first seems to be a hint of salinity. Orange zest, toffee, chocolate raisins, and notes of struck match are there, but before this sounds "sherried," there are also pear drops, fragrant cinnamon, honeysuckle, and sweet pea.
Palate: Fruity, then sweet, with a hint of anise, more toffee, and finally milk chocolate flakes, banoffee pie, and apple turnovers.
Finish: Now it's mostly creamy toffee with a hint of wood and sweet barley sugar warmth. Raisins with milk chocolate linger.

The Founder's Reserve single malt Scotch whisky, which was first introduced towards the end of 2014, is currently offered in the UK and will take the place of Despite early predictions that it would sit next to it, the Glenlivet is 12 years old in many of the developed countries, expanding the possibilities for entry-level consumers. It comes in Georgian blue packaging and is named for the distillery's founder, George Smith.
