Sobremesa has no precise English translation, ‘Over the table’ is the closest we can get. It is an idiom used in Latin culture to describe the leisurely time spent at the table after you have finished eating. 

It is the experience of lingering with family and friends in conversation, relaxing, drinking, smoking and enjoying each others company. Sobremesa is one of life’s simplest yet greatest pleasures.
