A well-liked hand-rolled Cuban cigar, the Cohiba Siglo I in its tubed form is known for offering a traditional medium-to-full-bodied Cohiba flavour profile in a more convenient, shorter smoking period. It comes in a branded aluminium tube with a cedar inside, which keeps it in good shape and makes it portable.
A special third fermentation process in hardwood barrels gives the Cohiba Siglo I its distinctive smooth, rich, and creamy smoke, which is a feature shared by all Cohiba cigars.
The Siglo I, which was initially released in 1994 to mark the 500th anniversary of Columbus' discovery of Cuba, is the smallest vitola (size) in the Linea 1492 Siglo series.
First Third
A smooth, creamy smoke with strong notes of vanilla, light wood, and sweet cedar is produced in the first third of the cigar. The opening was described as a "fine butter shortbread" with a hint of caramel by EGM Cigars reviewers. At the beginning, there's also a faint grassy sweetness and sporadic bursts of white pepper.
The second third
The tastes develop and intensify as the cigar moves toward the middle third. As the profile develops, it adds hints of honey, nuts (almonds or toasted hazelnuts), and a mild boost of black pepper and spice. The creamy smoothness that lingers throughout is complemented by the emergence of milk coffee and a hint of cocoa
The Last Third
The intensity increases in the last third without getting harsh. Rich wood and toasted nuts are usually the main flavours, and with every puff, the black pepper tingle gets stronger. The experience is connected by hints of earthiness, chocolate, and a mineral aftertaste. If savoured gently, the cigar's distinctive Cohiba smoothness typically keeps bitterness at bay, enabling it to be smoked near the nub.
