Nose: Butterscotch, fennel seed, tobacco leaf, Honey Nut Clusters, and traces of mixed boiled sweets (fruit, Everton mint, and menthol) are all present in this sweet, creamy Ardbeg. The creamy, delicate citrus flavours resemble flourless orange cake.
Palate: Though possibly lighter in body, there's still a lot of peaty kick. Cigars and golden syrup flapjacks with traces of chocolate limes and delicious black tea on the tail.
Finish: There's a hint of peanut brittle and smoky treacle.
ABV%: 46.6
Origin: Islay Whisky

An Oa gets its name from the Mull of Oa, which is southwest of Islay and provides some shelter from the worst of the Atlantic for the Kildaton shore, where the Ardbeg distillery is located! Therefore, without sacrificing the distinctive distillery style, Ardbeg An Oa aims to present a more approachable side to Ardbeg single malt that is as rounded as the Oa peninsula. This was the first addition to Ardbeg's core line in more than ten years, and it was released in the summer of 2017.
Dr. Bill Lumsden's unique "Gathering Vat" was used to mature a variety of casks, including Pedro Ximénez, charred virgin oak, and ex-bourbon!
