Nose: A delicate, extremely fragrant nose that displays the classic elegance of Warre. It has warm undertones of cedarwood and sweet tobacco, together with rich scents of dried cranberries, fragrant mint, liquorice, and leather.

Palate: Smooth, sophisticated, and medium- to full-bodied. With layers of dried fig, plum jam, spice cake, and cocoa powder, the explosive, young tannins have totally softened into a velvety texture.

Finish: Despite its mature age, it maintains an outstanding backbone of crisp acidity, making it long, remarkably fresh, and well-balanced.

    ABV%: 20%

    Origin: Quinta da Cavadinha

Pairing: Camacho Ecuador, Rocky Patel White Label, Sombremesa Brulee

The renowned single-estate fortified wine known as Warre's Quinta da Cavadinha Single-Quinta Vintage Port 1987 is made by the historic house of Warre's. A "Single-Quinta" Port is made completely from one flagship estate, in this case the renowned Quinta da Cavadinha, in contrast to regular Vintage Ports, which are blends of grapes from several vineyards. Warre's decided to release this excellent single-property expression in a year that wasn't widely regarded as a classic vintage throughout the region. It is a fully developed, exquisite example of Douro viticulture from the late 1980s, having aged gently for almost forty years.

The Estate: Quinta da Cavadinha, a steep and exquisitely maintained estate in the Pinhão Valley, is where all of the grapes used in this bottle were planted, harvested, and pressed. The Sub-Region: Situated in Portugal's Douro Valley's upscale Cima Corgo zone. The Terroir: Because Cavadinha is situated at a little higher elevation than nearby estates and faces entirely southeast, it is a distinctive vineyard. The 1987 vintage's renowned freshness, sophisticated aromas, and crisp, balanced acidity are the result of the grapes ripening more slowly due to the cooler microclimate.
