A limited-edition Nicaraguan puro made in 2025 to commemorate the Chinese Lunar New Year is called Plasencia Year of the Snake (El Año de la Culebra). The fifth installment in Plasencia's zodiac series is special since it features classic Lanceros alongside the brand's first-ever Culebra format.

The blend is said to be intricate and changing, striking a balance between robust Nicaraguan flavours and a sophisticated smoothness.

First Third: Begins with waves of toasted nuts, delicate chocolate, a smooth undercurrent of sweetness, and a rich earthiness. Sherry wood and sweet nougat are also highlighted in the master blender's notes.

Second Third: The profile becomes a harmonic blend of leather, petrichor (earthy rain), and baking spices.

Final Third: A sophisticated, joyous finish is provided by the intensifying notes of aged cedar, espresso, and cloves.
