A box-pressed Nicaraguan cigar, the Perla Del Mar Corojo Toro is renowned for its excellent value and manageable complexity. It is made by J.C. Newman and has a mixture of Nicaraguan long-fillers from the Jalapa, Condega, Pueblo Nuevo, and La Reina regions on top of an Ecuadorian Corojo-seed wrapper.
First third: Has a unique "barbecue rub" spice profile, hay-like earthiness, and fragrant oak.
Second third: The spice settles. Continuing coffee and nutmeg are combined with a distinctive creamy caramel aroma that many liken to root beer.
Last third: The profile becomes more detailed. After a hint of coconut and strong pepper, darker earthy tones take over.
