The Montecristo Petit Tubos is the cedar-lined, aluminium-tube version of the world's most famous and best-selling Cuban cigar: the Montecristo No. 4. Released in the mid-1980s, it was created specifically as a handy "travel companion", allowing cigar lovers to carry the classic Montecristo blend safely in a pocket without it drying out or getting squashed.
Because it shares the exact dimensions and tobacco blend of the No. 4, it displays the legendary "Montecristo Twang"—a unique, complex interplay of savoury, earthy, and sweet elements.
First Third: The Awakening: The cigar opens with immediate, striking notes of rustic cedar, dry earth, and leather. A distinctive, tangy Cuban twang is apparent right from the very first puff, coupled with a subtle hint of fresh greenery.
Second Third: The Sweet Spot: As the burn advances, the wood flavours deepen, and the smoke adopts a creamier texture. Subtle hints of dark cocoa, roasted almonds, and light vanilla emerge to soften the earthy backdrop.
Final Third: The Crescendo: In the final third, the flavour profile intensifies into a rich, savoury finish. Notes of bitter espresso bean, toasted tobacco, and sharp black pepper dominate the palate, delivering a powerful, warming finale.
