Curivari's Buenaventura Favoritos Connecticut (also known as "Favoritos Yellow") is a Nicaraguan cigar with a moderate to medium body. It is highly valued for its smooth, balanced profile that prioritises aroma over raw power and was created to resemble the creamy elegance of classic Cuban-style cigars.
The Buenaventura Favoritos Connecticut is incredibly smooth and "Cubanesque," emphasising a creamy smoothness over strong spice. The profile by thirds is as follows:
First Third: The cigar is fragrant and quite mellow at first. There will be hints of cedar, vanilla, and sweet hay. At this point, there is hardly any "pepper" bite; instead, it tastes like toasted brioche or dry, buttery shortbread.
Second Third: As the sweetness changes, the profile gets thicker. A pronounced roasted nut and cashew flavour replaces the hay overtones. At the end, a subtle sweetness akin to milk chocolate or caramel appears, giving the smoke a dense, "chewy" feel.
Final Third: The strength of the cigar approaches medium as it warms up. The flavours become darker—imagine white pepper and espresso beans—but the smoothness is still present. It avoids the bitterness that mild cigars frequently have at the finish, leaving the palate with a clean, somewhat salty cedar flavour.
