Casa Magna cigars are well-known for their affordability, thanks to a cooperation between Manuel Quesada and Nestor Plascencia. The Colorado Robusto cigar is made in Nicaragua at the Plasencia facility and features 100% Nicaraguan tobaccos with a shade-grown Colorado wrapper. This reddish oily wrapper indicates that this is a cigar with a lot of flavour and taste.
This cigar provides satisfaction at an affordable price, with earthiness, spice, and coffee combining to provide an enjoyable smoking experience.
Since 1974, Manuel Quesada has started producing cigars. His first cigars were mild-bodied blends of Dominican filler and binder tobaccos wrapped in light Connecticut seed wrappers. His most recent ventures are bolder, more colourful smokes. His most notable creation is the Casa Magna Colorado. He collaborated with Nicaragua's largest cigar tobacco grower, Nestor Plascencia, to create this mix in Plascencia's Segovia cigar factory.
Cigar Aficionado honoured the Casa Magna Colorado Robusto Cigar of the Year in 2008, awarding it 93 points. This cigar boasts a powerful heart of Cuban-seed tobacco harvested in two very distinct regions of Nicaragua; tobacco grown in Esteli tends to be strong, whereas tobacco grown in Jalapa, to the north, tends to be more balanced and elegant. They combine to create a full-flavored cigar with rich coffee notes and a cedary sweetness with a hint of raisins. The word 'Colorado' in the brand name relates to the wrapper's dark, slightly reddish tint.
