The medium-to-full-bodied, multi-origin Davidoff Winston Churchill Toro Commander cigar is renowned for its robust and nuanced flavours of wood, leather, and spice, which are counterbalanced by a smooth, sweet finish. Reflecting the "colossus" nature of the man himself, it is the biggest ring gauge in the Davidoff Winston Churchill core collection.
With clear transitions between the "creamy sweet influences" of the Mexican binder and the "triumphant mix of flavours" from the Nicaraguan filler, the tasting journey is characterised as nuanced and well-balanced.
First Third: The cigar starts off with hints of wood, leather, and spice. There are also hints of cedar and coffee, and the entry is well-balanced.
Second Third: As the Mexican binder's creamy, sweet undertones come through, the profile broadens. This adds earthy, dark coffee, and nutty aromas to offset the heat.
Final Third: The finish gets stronger, emphasising stronger liquorice, oak, and spicy aromas. The rich, full-bodied finish that lingers on the palate is rounded off by the sweet cream aromas.
